This trail is a mile and offers great bang for the buck. Early in the season, when wildflowers abound and the falls are at their peak, this walk through verdant meadows encourages you to linger and admire one view after another. Ansel Adams captured an image here of Half Dome, and there are many photo-worthy opportunities.

There are several points to connect with this trail. Take 140, Southside Drive, to the Sentinel Bridge parking lot. You can begin at shuttle stop #5 or #9 at the Visitor Center. This hike intersects with the Lower Yosemite Falls trailhead, a short half-mile round trip and pleasing detour.
