Glacier Point
Glacier Point is a spectacular lookout point in Yosemite National Park. Comparable to some of the best lookout points in North America, Glacier Point is not a sight that will disappoint the visitor. It's located at the south wall of Yosemite Valley at an elevation of 7,214 feet.
If you want to visit a lookout point in Yosemite National Park then Glacier Point is the place to be. You can't get a better view of the park than from this vantage point above Curry Village. Once you reach the lookout point it will be easy to see the amazing natural beauty of Yosemite down below.
Some of the views you can see from Glacier Point include a massive vista from the north and east, the forest and meadows surrounding the Merced River, many cliffs and stunning domes, as well as mountaintops and wilderness areas that make Yosemite National Park so stunning and magnificent.
You can even see the Vernal and Nevada Falls, the Upper and Lower Yosemite Falls, and the steep canyon of Tenaya Creek. Also look out for a glimpse of people moving in the distance like little ants on the landscape.
It's quite easy to access Glacier Point. You can reach the area via a paved road that moves west from CA 41 at Chinquapin Junction. This is about 8 miles south of the Wawona Tunnel entrance to Yosemite Valley, and 18 miles north of the southern entrance to the national park located at Mariposa Grove.
