It's easy to travel between Badger Pass and Yosemite Valley if you want to spend the day skiing – a free shuttle provides transportation to and from Badger Pass for the convenience of skiers wanting to take advantage of the slopes. This is perfect if you plan to stay or camp in Yosemite Valley and then make your way over to Badger Pass to have a fun day or more of skiing.
Badger Pass generally opens in mid-December and closes in March or early April, as this is when conditions are favorable for skiing.
The most popular activities at Badger Pass include: downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, backcountry ski tours, snowboarding, snow tubing, and snowshoeing. Kids lessons are also very popular among families coming to the park for a skiing adventure.
You can access the park four ways – from Highway 41 north from Fresno, Highway 140 west from Merced, Highway 120 east from Modesto, and Highway 120 east from Lee Vining and Highway 395.
