Tamarack Flat Campground, Yosemite Camping

Tamarack Flat Campground offers gorgeous views of Yosemite National Park so you can enjoy a camping trip in one of the most beautiful places on earth. A campground with sites available for tents only, Tamarack Flat is a great place to camp and get up close and personal with nature.

The best way to get into Tamarack Flat Campground is by way of Tioga Road, which runs for about 3 miles to the camp. The access road is not amenable to trailers and RVs, and as the only road leading to the campground, this means Tamarack Flat is only suitable for tents.

A fairly large campsite with 52 available camping sites in total, each site at Tamarack Flat has a picnic table and fire pit. A rustic campground meant for people who really want to "rough it," there is no drinking water on site. The site does offer pit toilets and parking for hikers.

To get there from Arch Rock Entrance, drive to Yosemite Valley on Highway 140, then turn left on Big Oak Flat Road and drive 9.5 miles to Tioga Road. Turn right on Tioga Road and go east to the Tamarack Flat Campground access road. Turn right on to the access road and drive for about three miles.
