Porcupine Creek Campground is located on high ground in Yosemite National Park, at an elevation of 8,100 feet. Open and offering all services from July to September, the campground is on Tioga Road near the Tuolumne Meadows. A good-sized camping site, Porcupine Creek provides 52 sites on a first come, first served basis.
Porcupine Creek Campground is a fantastic camping experience in Yosemite National Park, located about 38 miles from the Yosemite Valley. Open from July through September, 52 campsites are available to the public with no need to make official reservations. This camp mostly accommodates tents only, although a few sites are amenable to RVs at the front of the campground.
Porcupine Creek is the perfect starting point for adventures in the nearby vicinity, such as hiking, backpacking, fishing, and scenic driving. The camp itself provides everything you need when camping, such as a picnic table, fire pit, and access to pit toilets. Visitors, however, must bring their own drinking water and have the ability to boil any water found on site. Pets are not allowed.
To get there from Arch Rock Entrance, drive along the Merced River on Highway 140 right into the park. Turn left onto Big Oak Flat Road and drive 9.5 miles to Tioga Road. Turn right on Tioga Road and drive 24 miles to the campground.
