Train Service
Make the trip a unique and nostalgic experience by riding Amtrak's network of rails that bring visitors right to the heart of Yosemite National Park, all in one complete package.

Destinations
Yosemite National Park is accessed by Amtrak's San Joaquim Route, which connects the San Francisco Area, Sacramento, Fresno and Bakersfield. Amtrak runs a motorcoach from the Merced Station into the Yosemite Lodge, as does the awkwardly named Yosemite Area Regional Transportation Systems, YARTS.
By connecting through the San Joaquim Route, destinations including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Diego, and Seattle are available on Amtrak.
Rates
Prices vary, depending on destination, but include the park entrance. Here are some examples of standard rates, listed as one-way tickets:
- San Francisco to Yosemite Lodge has a standard rate of $52.
- Fresno to Yosemite Lodge is normally $27.
- Sacramento to Yosemite runs $35.
Schedules
The buses and trains run six times per day each direction. The first northbound train at 7:45am, while the first southbound train is at 8:45am. The trains pass every three hours until the last one departs at 8:15pm northbound and 8:45pm southbound.
