For more than 50 years, Dodge Ridge Ski Resort has been providing California skiers and riders with exciting terrain, great snow, and innovative new developments in the ski industry. With an emphasis on challenging runs and backcountry-esque glades and bowls, Dodge Ridge is a true skier's ski resort-- come see what the locals consider their own hidden gem.
HIT THE TRAILS
Located just 150 miles from San Francisco in the central Sierra Mountain range, Dodge Ridge Ski Resort has long been a sought-after destination for Californians and visitors alike. In 1951, on its first day of operation, more than three thousand people showed up hungry for a trip into the California steeps. Today, Dodge Ridge never shies away from innovation—a six million dollar upgrade brings a true renaissance of comfort and accessibility to the base area, and the resort warmly supports the development of a freestyle terrain culture. With 80 percent of the resort designated intermediate and advanced terrain, one would think that expert skiers would have enough room to play. Dodge Ridge disagreed—they boast a total of five freestyle terrain parks scattered over the resort's 850 acres!
While advanced and intermediate skiers and riders enjoy the full 1,600-foot vertical drop from the summit (at 8,200 feet), beginners have an entire area devoted to those of us looking for the easier (or easiest!) way down. Everyone, however, enjoys the impressive snowfall at Dodge Ridge Ski Resort—the mountain receives between 300 and 500 inches of snowfall each year! That is plenty of snow to coat the resort's 59 runs and five individual terrain parks with a blanket of white. Dodge Ridge Ski Resort is—and always has been—THE place to go in northern California.
