  • Glen Aulin
This beautiful backcountry camp is nestled in the trees by the stunning White Cascade waterfall. Hiking from the camp into the wilderness is a favorite of campers. Take the trail to California Falls, and then continue on to Le Conte Falls. If you stretch your hike to also take in Waterwheel Falls, you’ll have a great 20-mile trek.
  • May Lake
This high mountain lake provides some incredible scenery overlooking Tioga Road and further off in the distance, Cloud’s Rest and Tenaya Lake. This is a wonderful place to get in some swimming and fishing.
  • Sunrise
The panoramic vistas reveal Echo Peak, Cathedral Peak, Matthes Crest as well as the Clark Range. This camp is named for the unbelievable morning views as the sun rises over the mountains.
  • Merced Lake
This Yosemite camp is encircled by granite domes and ridges, and because it’s at a lower elevation, you’ll find white firs, lodgepole pines and aspen. Fishing here is best during the summer months, and you’ll catch some brown, brook and rainbow trout.
  • Vogelsang
A short way beyond Fletcher Lake, this camp is in an alpine setting, with plenty of great views. From here, you can embark on trails to Bernice, Townsley or Emeric Lakes.
