Wapama Falls

Waterfalls //
Perhaps the most powerful waterfall in all of Yosemite National Park, Wapama Falls dominants its 1,300 foot fall to the end of the trail where water shoots off of the waterfalls base. It is only accessible by foot but it is an easy walk and a very worthwhile one at that.
One of the mightiest waterfalls in Yosemite and perhaps in the United States, Wapama Falls flows solidly year round. It is fed at the top by Lake Vernon, and crashes 300 feet, into another 600 feet descent where it finally drops 200 feet to its base. The total height is a lofty 1,300 feet. During peak flow times in April and June, Wapama is not as easy to maneuver. The trail bridge often holds Wapama Falls overflow and hikers can not possibly make it across.
Wapama is nearby Tueeulala Falls, both located along the cliffs of Hetch Hetchy Valley. Hikers can make the easy journey and find a spot among the rocks to lunch or simply enjoy the views of these two impressive waterfalls. Wapama Falls can be reach by going to the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir, which stretches along 16 miles of Hetch Hetchy Road.
