Staircase Falls

Waterfalls //
Staircase Falls looks like the visual the name projects. It tumbles down a series of steps on the cliffs that are just below Glacier Point for approximately 1,700 feet. However it is very thin, no bigger than a foot across at its widest point.
Staircase Falls is a simple waterfall to navigate for those who have trouble getting to the other more difficult falls. It can be accessed by car, on foot or by horse. It is known to be one of the most curious waterfalls in Yosemite National Park, the way it skips down the steps like a merry child, yet one of the most boring due to the quickness in which it dries up, its slow pace and small width. As mentioned, it dries up easily and is a very brief waterfall, usually only flowing after rainfall occurs.
These falls are very accessible. They can be viewed from the meadow opposite the Royal Arch Cascade. Campers at Camp Curry have easy access to the site, as they are located immediately behind the grounds. Drivers can take Southside Drive, just past Curry Village to the lot alongside the meadow.
