Illilouette Falls

Waterfalls //
Illilouette Falls might just be the most unappreciated waterfall yet one of the most awing in all of Yosemite National Park. It goes unseen from any road but is glimpsed by many hikers on the Mist Trail. However, the day long trip to this one of a kind waterfall is well worth the effort.
Standing a mere 370 feet tall, Illilouette Fall's seems to seep out of nowhere in the towering canyon rocks that surround it. There are so many other waterfalls in Yosemite that many sightseers pass Illilouette by as it is not accessible by car or by horse. For those that have ventured out to the waterfall, it is claimed to be highly worthwhile to take the short hike down the Panorama Trailhead, have lunch and marvel at the fall. However, the hike back is more difficult as you make your way toward Happy Isles in Yosemite Valley although a car or shuttle bus service is available to pick hikers up at a certain point and whisk them back to Happy Isles.
You can get to Illilouette Fall's on Southside Drive. Turn right onto highway 41, heading for Wawona. At mile 9, turn left onto Glacier Point Road and continue on for another 16 miles to the Glacier Point parking light. The trail head starts at the right side of Glacier Point.
